CHHC – Community of Hope Health Clinic

As the Volunteers in Medicine name states, the majority of the services are delivered by volunteer medical and lay staff members. Only the Executive Director is paid.

Shelby County is fortunate to have a vibrant and generous community that includes a wealth of active and retired medical personnel, students, lay volunteers and other individuals who liberally and consistently donate their time to community causes.

Ever since our first meeting, individuals with both medical and non-medical backgrounds have expressed a tremendous desire to volunteer at CHHC. They know that it’s going to take an army of volunteers to keep this clinic going, but they don’t always know exactly where they fit.

We need both non-medical and medical volunteers. We need groups (Church groups, civic clubs, etc.), retired individuals, non-retired individuals, and others to serve one or more night(s) per year.

Training will be provided to ensure that you not only know your role, but enjoy doing it. Currently, we are seeking the following medical volunteers: nurses, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, licensed residents or fellows in training, medical students, nursing students, pharmacy students, and other allied health professionals. We are also seeking the following non-medical volunteers: receptionists, greeters, office workers, IT professionals, attorneys, teachers, trainers, social workers, case workers, patient advocates, ministers, translators, marketing professionals, public relations professionals, and anyone else who has a heart for medical ministry.
