As the “Volunteers in Medicine” name denotes
– what makes our organization unique – nearly all services will
be delivered by volunteer medical and lay staff members. Only the Executive
Director position is paid.
The
Executive Director’s role is vital to the clinic’s start up
success. He organizes clinic efforts, recruits volunteers, spearheads
development, engages the community and assists the Board of Directors.
To
ensure that services are delivered with the highest of medical standards, our
Medical Director and Medical Advisory Committee oversee medical care at the
clinic. They also work closely with area hospitals to ensure the continuity
of care.
The
Medical Advisory Committee works with the Executive Director and Medical
Director to recruit and assess the qualifications and credentialing
requirements of each volunteer health care provider. They also work closely
with medical students, nursing students, pharmacy students, and their
respective instructors to supervise the care provided.
Finally, the Community of Hope’s Board of Directors
actively oversees the efforts of the entire team-effort.
