Initially,
the Community of Hope Health Clinic is located at the Health Department
in Pelham (County Services Drive Pelham, AL 35124). There
are many advantages to co-locating in this facility, but the greatest is
the obvious cost savings. Since the Health Department facility already has
the necessary examination equipment and other resources in place, our start
up costs will be minimal compared to other clinics. This is a huge
blessing. Keeping start up costs low will allow us to focus on future
sustainability rather than merely trying to “make ends meet.”
 As resources are made available, we hope to impact the lives of more
neighbors in need by prudently expanding operations. At that time we will
likely outgrow current arrangements.
If and/or when that
happens, we hope to be able to locate near other social services entities.
Many free clinics in other parts of the country have benefited by locating
themselves near other social service agencies (like mental health, etc).
This not only allows the patient to have access to a variety of services in
one convenient location – much like a resource center or medical mall
– but it also allows the different agencies to enjoy numerous cost
saving benefits; like shared administrative staff.
